YSaC, Vol. 1661: Where it’s gone now, I can’t see.
Volkswagen Beetle
1999 Volkswagen Beetle Bug. Great heater and good in snow.
( I can send pics of passenger side but it pretty much looks the same)
You THINK you’re being funny. I’m going to steal your car and replace it with a giant inflatable badger. See how funny you are in six months when the snow melts and you discover your car is gone.
Thanks for the post, Gwen!
For sale: Igloo. Portable in summer.
[Sir David Attenborough voice]”Here, we see the rare and elusive snow dung beetle in it’s natural habitat. It is extremely rare, as snow has almost no nutritional value, and is only available part of the year. Further, human beings often dig it out of the snow balls the beetle-bug so carefully crafts. In response to this, robbed of its snow, the bug often then rusts.”
You are more dedicated (educated? …deducated!) than I. I couldn’t remember how to spell “Attenborough” so I had to go with something else.
Obviously you don’t reference Attenborough enough or autocorrect would remember it for you.
“Attention borrowers.” Didn’t work.
It’s so rare that a Sparky/Sparkette will capture such detail in the pictures they submit with their ads.
Well played, master photographer.
Well played, indeed.
(I can send pics of passenger side but it pretty much looks the same)
“pretty much looks the same” ?????? Now I do want to see the other side….I never would have thought about questioning the condition of the other side, until you inadvertently suggested there might be some inconsistency. This now begs the question….”what IS actually under that pile of snow?”…….
I can park it in the garage with the shy chair.
Why would you need to? It has a great heater!
Everybody wants a great heater. But if you play a good game of Fizbin…
Snow covered black punch buggy! No punch backs!
This means you, Windy! Punchity punch!
*pout* I never get to have any fun!
Wait, yes I do.
Ow! Hey, you hit me! (Sorry, it’s been a slow morning.)
Sparky 1: “What happens now?”
Sparky 2: “Now Not.A.Lion, [Corey], and I wait until nightfall and then leap out of the beetle-bug, taking the French Canadians by surprise. Not only by surprise, but totally unarmed!”
Sparky 1: “Who leaps out?”
Sparky 2: “Not.A.Lion, [Corey], and I… leap out of the beetle-bug… and, uh… um, look. If we build a large snow covered badger…”
RUN AWAY!!!!
Dammit! I just used my last Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch!
Go away or I will taunt you a second time!
Bring me a shrubbery!
The owner was a hamster and the beetle smells of elderberries.
It’s a very viscous beetle bug with sharp pointy teeth!
This is beautiful you guys. The volume and range of these Monty Python references is truly moving. I think I may have found a home here.
On second thought, maybe not. ‘Tis a silly place.
But we have a ministry for that!
No no, this is chicanery. You want frivolity, room 12A, next door.
IF….are you trying to argue????? (Well, that’s down the hall, second door on your left…)
I prefer the Datsun Honey Bee. The Volkswagen Beetle Bug tastes a bit too tinny.
Due to lovely Rita, It’s been a hard day’s night for a day tripper like this, but fortunately here comes the sun, so we can work it out. I should have known better, but I saw her standing there, and want to take her on a magical mystery tour, but right now she’s gong nowhere, man. Now I’ve got a ticket to ride, so I’ll go on a long and winding road. Baby you can drive my car.
Wait — it says BEETLE. Never mind. I’ll just let it commit insecticide.
Totally appropriate for the Beatle Invasion anniversary! Have you been listening to WXPN?
Ralph….this would have been terrific–EXCEPT–you messed up with the “she’s gong nowhere, man”….gong?
We blew it, Billy…..
note to MissMommy…”Have you been listening to WXPN?”….no, I’ve been listening to the voices in my head…since1964.
Me too, since 1977. However, one of the greatest public radio stations in the US – WXPN, out of the University of Pennsylvania, has been playing awesome tributes all day!
Well, better late than never M2N2….welcome to the fold.
I vividly recall that Sunday evening in February watching Ed Sullivan at my grandparents’…my life changed forever…the world was changed forever…
but…whatever…
Slow day today. Isn’t anyone else experiencing #icepocalypse? Or are you all out of power? Stay warm, popsicles!
-18 degrees F here.
It got down to 48 degrees F this morning! Brrrr! California winter is brutal! Have to wait until noon to catch some waves, dude.
It’s surprisingly warm here in the ice world. Although giant chunks of ice keep raining down from above. Good Ol’ York, Pa took a big brunt of this storm. Although we are lucky enough to be I the same power grid as the substation so we’re good.
My parents are on the same grid as the main hospital. We always evac over there!
We need rain up here, y’all. Please package up some of your snow and send it our way.
Edit: That would be the West Coast, Northern California. Thought directions would be appropriate.
My SIL posted some pics of rain in San Francisco the other day, but certainly not enough to alleviate the drought 🙁
I was busy shoveling. My yard/driveway/street looks almost exactly like Sparky’s pictures.
We had our freak ice storm last week. First time in my (literally) 30 years living here that we’ve ever had one. Shut the place down for 2 1/2 days. We get snow once every decade or so, but ice? That’s jus’ unnat’ral!
Sending you all mid 60’sF thoughts!
It sure is in snow. But I don’t think that’s a good thing.
