There’s nothing really wrong with this ad itself, other than that there’s a little too much excitement! in! the! description!! But no, the hilarity comes elsewhere. Let’s look at the pictures, shall we?
That’s okay … it’s a good display of the jewelry; it’s tough to take a close picture in focus if you don’t have a good macro lens, so we can forgive that. Moving on …
Nicely displayed so you can see everything … but … what’s the display on? That’s not … could it be? No, it couldn’t, could it?
Sigh. It is. This person took pictures of their Tiffany jewelry on top of the toilet tank. Classy. (At least the toilet appears to be clean!)
Sent in by SD — thanks!
What are the odds that the boyfriend who gave them to her was in the other room?
Why does she say $1 and then $300 or best offer? What if $1 is my best offer?
If you’ve done any amount of bargain hunting on CL, you know that people put $1 so that they’ll come up in your search when your limit is lower than their asking price. It’s one of my biggest Craigslist-related pet peeves. If I can’t afford $300 for something – I won’t be able to afford it just because you try to entice me with your fancy toilet pictures!
Wow. What class!
Sadly, it’s probably the brightest spot in the house, much like mine. However, being the crafty photographer that I am, I know how to make a relatively inexpensive light box from common household items (think mesh laundry basket and some gooseneck lamps). Anywhooo, at least the toilet seat is down.
Martha, that’s very prophetic of you. You’ll see …. mwah-hahahahahahaha. (I’ve been practicing my evil laugh.)
Courtney – To avoid the stupid $1 listings just set your minimum to $2! hehe
The best part is that the set is clearly a fake worth about $1.
It’s a good white background. A photographer with no sense of shame would realize it’s a great backdrop.
Kit: After you’ve taken a few pictures with a white background, you’ll realize that an all- or mostly white background makes for a terrible photgraphic backdrop. Especially with the current generation of “smart” cameras, they see white and think the frame must be overexposed, so you end up with dark pictures. The only saving grace of these shots is that it looks like the photographer chose not to use the flash.
Sorry. Lighting for Photography 101 is now over. Move along, nothing to see here.
Love it I will buy both for 100… Please? Let me know my e mail is rachelle201086@hotmail.com
This is very subtle snarking…bravo.
Er…what? Really?
